Somatic Yoga + Meditation

Somatic Yoga is a gentle and therapeutic practice with the intention of bringing awareness to reconnecting our body with our emotional experience. Rather than the purpose of intense exercise, somatic yoga invites us to slow down and investigate how we're feeling as we flow through movement. Meditation is a practice of mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state.

These practices are beautifully intertwined as Ashley guides you through a peaceful experience of reuniting your body, mind, and spirit.

What is Somatic Yoga?

Somatic yoga therapy is a holistic wellness modality that focuses on the connection between your body and mind to heal ailments of the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

Why would I benefit?

Your body holds and stores emotions that have yet to be released. According to both ancient medicinal traditions and newly found scientific discoveries, these unresolved emotions and unaddressed traumas can become "trapped" in your body, presenting as tension, pain, imbalances, and disease. (Check out the book "Your Body Keeps the Score" if you're curious to learn more!)

What is it like?

Your Somatic Yoga + Meditation experience with Ashley is as unique as you are. You'll arrive to a peaceful environment, immediately feeling the sense of exhale as you assess your current state of wellness together. Using over ten years of study and experience in the fields of Health Sciences, Massage Therapy, Usui Reiki, Meditation, Chakra Balancing, and Yoga, you'll be guided through a gentle reconnection of the body, mind, and spirit. Your session is tailored to meet your specific needs and wellness goals with a combination of being guided through physical movements, breathwork, visualization, healing touch, self-regulation, and relaxation techniques to calm your nervous system and promote healing.

Which form is best for me?

Group somatic class is an excellent way to dip your toes in and see if Ashley's style of healing support is right for you. This is also an excellent way to build a sense of community within your life of those who are in all stages but experiencing similar challenges. Classes are also a more affordable option.

Individual sessions are perfect for going deeper, especially if you're looking for support that is specifically designed for your needs. These sessions are also private, which can foster a level of comfort and care that allows for continued levels of release that may be harder for some to achieve in a group setting.

How should I prepare?

Come to your session with an open mind, wearing comfortable clothes you can move in. Hydrate well before if able, and bring your bottle of water (no worries if you've forgotten). Consider the areas of life you've been struggling with... physically, mentally, spiritually. Reflect upon what feeling better will mean for your life and open your heart to it happening.

Is Somatic Yoga + Meditation for me?

Perhaps you've tried modern medicine and are tired of being prescribed band-aids rather than getting to the root of the problem. Perhaps you've tried talk therapy, maybe even with different therapists and feel you've hit a plateau. You know you're ready to feel good and create the kind of life you know you're capable of, you just feel like you're hitting roadblock after roadblock. Somatic yoga therapy and meditation have been shown to successfully improve:

  • PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, pain management, ADHD, chronic illness, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, and more.

Woman on a Deserted Road

-Bradi J.

As I reflect on my time with Ashley, I am grateful for her deep intuition, strong sense of empathy, and comforting demeanor. My time with her allowed me to safely open myself up to the potential of living a more meaningful life. Ashley understands the why, how, and when behind developing oneself and guides the process in a personalized and caring way. She guided me in peeling back layers to develop a deeper understanding of myself. I am thankful for her gift of guidance. Here are a few thoughts I hold dear from my conversations with Ashley, "You are enough and can find balance. This can be done by creating stillness and space. Progress can be peaceful, slow, and steady."
